It's been a long time since anyone or everyone was able to

forecast this beautiful weather a week ahead of time for our
fantastic Space City Cruisers Fall Car, Truck and Bike show.
Not a happy camper when I had to roll out of bed at 4:30 AM
in the morning to prepare the Park for you fine folks knowing
that you would be coming in early for a good parking spot.
When I hit that cool air of 69 degrees, it sparked a little life into
this old body, but damn it felt good!!! I was still burning on
dimmers, but now I was really excited to meet you and the day
that layed ahead of me. Still wasn't completely charged up
when I arrived at the park, but the battery in my camera was!
Yep, I was wRight, y'all started coming in around a little after
6 AM and kept coming and coming until closing of registration
at 11:00 AM with 176 entries. We may NEVER surpass our
record number of cars and trucks like our Spring Car Shows
but today, bragging rights were the order of the day. As a
representative of the Space City Cruisers and speaking on
their behalf, we want to thank each of you that cruised to our
show to generate the money that goes to our Vicki Harvey
Gibson memorial Scholarship Fund, The Texas Lions Camp
at Kerrville of Texas and other Programs in and around the
League City area! I would love to mention by name all those
that made this possible, like our Sponsors (WOW), Club
Members, Volunteers, Evening Lions, , Arts & Crafts, Food
Vendors, but as you can see if I included all the names in for
each of these group of folks I would lose you. I did however,
take enough pictures to let them do the talking for me. With
the help of my photo shops, I arranged the pictures as to keep
your attention and maybe not lose you along the way. All
the groups I mentioned above will be covered within the 566
pictures I took and posted to Photobucket. With this said,
this would be a good a place to stop and thank y'all again for
coming to our show, and hope to see you next year for our
Spring Car Show on Saturday April 4th. 2015, Easter
Weekend. Good to see y'all Saturday, your smile through
the camera lens said it all. "Be Good" keep your ride between
the lines, and out of the ditches.

Monday July 28th. 2014 at 6AM

I’ve been hearing about this Hemi Hideout for a few years from
a couple of car buddies that I’ve met over the years, Gary Jones
and Jim Meader.  They both offered me an invite to visit the
Hemi Hideout but I always had something going on, you know,
to many irons in the fire.  Back a few months ago my other car
club, Houston Area Chevrolet joined up with two other clubs to
cruise to this place to see what all the fuss was with this Hideout.
This all came together last Saturday after I talked my Mopar
Nut buddy, Brad Senter, into driving because I can’t afford the
gas these days.  From the time we pulled off of Hwy 10 onto the
property of the Hemi Hideout, it was nothing short of OMG
until we pulled back on the highway for home. Not only was this
place amazing but it was like old home week with all my car
buddies there.  Yep, both Gary and Jim surprised me with their
presence, wow, it just doesn’t get any better than this, or does it?
I looked past the crowd of folks and their stands Mr. Car Guy
himself, Charlie Van Natter, damn, old home week all rolled up
in one package, now my weekend is complete.  Come to find out
Gary and Jim both have been volunteering their support along
with a lot of supporters (like one big family) from day one in
helping owner John Hovas in making this all possible. To
complete my day I was introduced to John Hovas, hell, he is a
Car Nut just like the rest of us and he never stopped chasing his
dream either, because I saw all of it in that one big ass beautiful
building…..Thank you Brad, Gary, Big Jim, Charlie and John, I
will be talking about this Historical place for a long time!!
Besides my photo’s I have Keith Hardy’s with HACC and Sean
Tajipour from WHM with their photo’s so y’all have a lot to
look at.  I’ve included a Satellite View of Hemi Hideout in one of
the Links below.  Y’all be good wherever your ride takes you,
just keep her between the lines and out of the ditches.

Concours d'Elegance of Texas
Thursday May 8th 2014 At 6PM
Posted by Bob Wright

Into their third year of bringing you the Concours d'Elegance
of Texas was a new experience for me and other gear heads
who were eccepted and participated in most of the activities
offered over the three days of exceptional weather.
Friday morning May 2nd at 9AM we all gathered At the La
Torreta Conference Center to participate in the fifty mile
Texas Tour d'Elegance around Lake Conroe thru nice winding
roads that tunneled down and threw the beauty of East Texas
landscape.  The police escort was truly a blessing by stopping
traffic at every light and cross road in our path to make this
one of the safest and most relaxing tours in my experience.
We ended up where we started, back at the La Torretta Lake
Resort.
Saturday May 3rd was auction day for the some 125
plus world class motor cars, trucks, boats. Which all stood
out with water on one side and the beautiful Conference Center
and Hotel as a back drop waiting to go under the hammer at
the Worldwide's 13th. Annual The Houston Classic Auction.

I took pictures of EVERY entry that surrounded the Convention
Center awaiting their turn to go on the auction block...Don't
even ask the names of some of the entries, you're on your
own just like I was.
Sunday May 4th of course was the big day for the Concours
d'Elegance of Texas presented by Gullo Family Dealerships
from 10AM to 4:30PM on the La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa
Golf Course.  Mother nature was truly very kind to everyone
who displayed their beautiful world-class vintage Motorcars.
I personally feel very fortunate to have been included in with
some of the most unique, one of a kind  motorcars and classic
cars of the time. Here is where I will bring  this letter to a close
and let my pictures reflect the beauty and pristine quality of all
the vehicles that were represented on the Show Field. Enjoy
the pictures and until we meet again, keep your ride between
the lines and out of the ditches.

It sure makes it nice when you can plan your cruise a week
ahead of time knowing that the weather is going to be
perfect for a fun time at Space City Cruisers Spring Car
Show in League City.  The cars and bikes just kept flowing
in, from the break of dawn, right up to 11:00 am when
registration closed.  After all the dust settled we had some
184 cars and trucks with about 25 motorcycles all on
display for a day of kicking tires and reminiscing about
old times. Some unbelievable raffled items like the 39"
HDTV, Tools, Impact gun, Portable blower and the list just
keeps going on, must see pictures of the tables that were
full of all kinds of good items. Great show, good weather
along with the help of all our SCC Club Members and our
LOYAL Sponsors that have stood behind us all these years
in brining you the BEST of BEST shows in this Houston
area.  Without all these folks coming together as one makes
all this possible in generating money for The Vicki Gibson
Scholarships, Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Tx. and some
of our local charities in the surrounding area of League City.
As advertised, Space City Cruisers once again were on time
with presentation of trophies at 3 pm sharp with judging
completed ahead of schedule.  Two folks who are hardly
ever thought of that work behind the scenes in tallying up all
the score sheets are Esther Trusty and Dee Wright, both
deserve a great big Texas Hug!  {Esther} & {Dee} (best I
can do for now).  With everyone's help, y'all were leaving
the park by 3:45 pm and headed back home.  One Big
Thank You to all of you fine folks who showed up to help
support all of our charities this last Saturday and all past
shows over the years.  In closing, I would like to invite y'all
back this October 18th for our Space City Cruisers Fall Car
Show being moved back to Walter Hall Par just north of FM
518 on Hwy 3 in League City.  Y'all be good, I'll see you
somewhere out there this summer, just keep your ride
between the lines and out of the ditches and THANK YOU

again folks and enjoy the pictures in the link below!!!!

One wild and car crazy fun day at the 4th EVER "MEET THE
LEGENDS"
Nostalgic Drags & Rod Run in Sealy, Tx.  The
weather was pretty good, but that Head Wind was a killer for
all the Nostalgic Racers.  Everyone knew well in advance that
the weekend was going to be a day without that wet stuff from
the sky which brought folks out of the wood work.  Special
thank you and a big Texas Hug goes out to Chet Beaty and all
his workers for bringing all this together into a ONE day event.
I took about 800 pictures some at 7 frames per second, and

was able to weed a lot out down to about 440 with a story
book show and tell type theme.  Please take some extra time

to view the wall that Honor's American Heroes from the State
of Texas.  These are at FULL RESOLUTION so that you can
read and see each photo on the boards for some easy reading;
just follow my instructions in making that happen.  Also, don't
miss seeing Herschel Cronin 7 fps shots of a Funny Car Burn
Out and his incredible shot off the line with wheels in the air.
Last but not least, my buddy Sonny Poteet talked Heidi Van
Horn into riding down the track with him in his 1955 Blown
Chevy; everyone was hanging on the fence for this one....
I'm going to let my picture do the rest of the talking for me,
except for this note from Chet Beaty below:
Y’all be good, see you somewhere, lots of shows this year!!

Well the first batch of pictures have arrive of our 4th Ever,
"LEGENDS" Nostalgic Drag and Rod Run. The attached link
will take you to Flickr where Bill Jacomet has posted a number
of incredible pictures of this weekends event. While it would
take many pages to describe all the great things that happened,
two stand out, the first being Heidi Van Horne, colonist for
the Houston Chronicle graced us with her presence after
writing a great article about our event that appeared in the
Houston Chronicle last Thursday and 6 year old James Bane
raced the Scorpion I a dragster that was built by Legendary
Texas racer Bobby Langley  in the 50's and won! Enjoy the
pictures and please share with friends because I do not have
everyone's email particularly those in the LEGENDS photo.
I will post on my Facebook page (
Chet Beaty) so please send
people there for these and other postings as I receive them.

Thanks Everyone Chet Beaty

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

-------------Special Edition-------------
Thursday March 27th 2014 at 8AM

I’ve been working on a presentation for a few weeks
now, which to me should make for some good
reading and pictures to back that statement up.
Shawn Chittum (Operations Manager of Houston
Airport System) is coordinator of the
Aeros & Autos
Car Show
and a six year veteran with the Space
City Cruisers Car Club
.  The relationship with Shawn
and SCC’s has grown into helping each other with
his show and ours to generate revenue for a good
cause to help kids in need all over Texas.  Shawn
can always be found at the head of the line in
helping with registration of Cars and Trucks
coming in from all over Texas for the Spring
and Fall Car Show with Space City Cruisers Car
Club.  Every year Aeros & Autos Car Show at
Ellington Airport has a photo shoot to place a few
Classic Cars on their Main Flyer along with a
different aircraft each year.  Four Cars were
picked for the photo shoot this year with only two
of the four being selected to be on the Main Flyer.
The other two cars are used, along with the Main
Flyer cars to be placed on Banners and Posters
for promotional advertisements for the car show.
In the presentation that follows this lead in, I have
another fellow SCC Club Member and Sponsor that
deserves to be mentioned for his help in providing
pictures and the write up for three of the four cars
involved in the photo shoot.  That would be
Rob
Lamy
, owner and business partner Dennis Easley
Kemah Classics Automotive, 1907 Lawrence Rd.
Kemah, Tx., along with Shawn Chittum for help in
making this presentation possible for three
fortunate Space City Cruiser club members to show
off their exceptional rides in such a beautiful setting!
I’m not going to mention the lucky guys involved I’ll
let the pictures and write ups do that for me in the
link below.  Keep in mind that when you register for
the Aeros & Autos May 17th you get a 4X6 photo of
you and your ride alongside a military aircraft, not
necessarily this one!

The spring morning brought fog to this area of the Gulf
Coast as I headed to the 31st APA Spring Car Show at
the Strand in Galveston.  Met up with my buddy Brad
Senter on I-45 and fell into the caravan of Space City
Cruisers as they headed to the show.  We hit one patch
of rain but at 70mph it flew over my slick head without
a drop in the car.  Sal Escamilla (APA club president)
checked me in at the entrance to the show, set up the
car and hit the ground running with camera in hand.
First show of the year for me (outside) and probably for
a lot of other folks in attendance.  Love this show,
excellent atmosphere, Classic Cars, water, boats,
dolphins, walk on the Strand, and the exceptional warm
welcome from the folks with the American Pontiac
Association Car Club!  The Space Cruisers club members
all grouped together for lunch at Willie G’s, a little pricey
but considering the very good food, friends and
atmosphere, it is well worth it. The day started out a little
bit iffy but with the overcast for most of the day and the
temperature hovering around 74 turned out to be an
exceptional day.  As always, “THANK YOU” to all Pontiac
Club Members for making this a pleasant journey to your
“Saturday at the Strand”!!!!!!  Enjoy the pictures in the
link below.

That’s all I have for now folks, I can see by my Camaro

Kid Car List that it is going to be a very busy year of Car
Shows.  One to mark on your Calendars is the

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Monday February 24th 2014 at 11 AM

A big thank you goes out to the management of Hooters
at the Seabrook location.  Yesterday, (Sunday February
23rd), Hooters gave the Space City Cruisers Car Club the
opportunity to hold a special benefit car show at their
place of business with ALL proceeds going to the Kids at
the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas.  Even with the
weather being kinda iffy that morning, anyone and every-
one knows here on the Gulf Coast, that the mornings are
going to be damp, but give it time, by noon it will all burn
off.  This was no exception for yesterday, “that is what
happened”, nice day for everyone.  I was going to drive
my old beat up Corvette, but folks were still kicking up
roaster tails of water in front of my house, so I made my
way there in my “want to be truck” with camera fully
charged.  No surprise to me when I turned off of hwy 146
on to Bay Area, the Hooters parking lot was full.  As I
parked around in back, I ran into Pee Wee Bowen, who
was just pulling out because he had another engagement
he had to be too, “Man Stays On The Run”.   After giving
him a big Texas Hug I made my way into the crowd of the
happiest car folks you would ever want to meet.  For some
reason most of the folks were very receptive of taking
pictures of them and their cars, “something in the air I
guess”, LOL, but then again most car folks have that
natural instinct.  Now remember we are at Hooters here,
and I had one person, about half way through my
pictures, show some Hooters, “Don’t Miss This One”!  The
total count of entries was 63 cars and trucks but more
parked after the closing time of registration, but most still
paid a donation to the pot knowing that they wouldn’t be
involved in the people’s choice awards.  Good food, people,
cars, trucks, bikes and weather made for an exceptional
day of kicking tires.  Now is a good a time to plug the Space
City Cruisers Spring Car Show April 19th, so mark your
calendars!   Unlike the people’s choice awards (which is a
simple way of scoring cars), all Space City Cruisers car
shows have had a standing reputation for 18 years of
experience judging your Ride with a TWO people Judging
system.   It takes more time and commitment from our club
members, but this puts the highest quality of judging into
to each and every one of our car shows.  Okay, “that’s my
plug” and “ I’m sticking to it”.  That’s all I’ve got folks, until
the next time we meet, keep your ride between the lines and
out of the ditches…
Y’all be good!

The Corvette/Chevy Expo is usually the start for the new
year of Car Shows in and around the Houston area.  This
year the Corvette/Chevy Expo in its 36th year moved back
to the Reliant Center with better parking and the ease of
moving in and out compared to the G R B Center.  A lot
of questioning about the size of Hall “B” at Reliant Center
compared to George Brown’s Hall “B”.  In the lead in to
my pictures is the comparison between the two halls,
which should help clear this up a bit and might surprise
you a little.  This show is making a comeback with new
management in the last couple of years, but I believe the
move from GRB to Reliant has caused some slow down in
foot traffic.  But this can be expected whenever you make
a big move like this until folks become accustom to
change.  On a whole, the show went pretty good, but the
biggest complaint I heard for the two days was the lack of
taking a few extra seconds to write on your placard which
class your car had been assigned too!  I was able to run
from one meeting room to another in the above levels to
take photo shots from the windows looking down on the
cars on the floor.  Also, the Dinosaur Show for the kiddies
was going on in Hall “D” and was able to find one room
for a few shots overlooking it too.  At the end of my photos
are “Some Eye Candy For The Guys” of the Swim Suit
contest that took place at 3 PM Sunday.  Of the 500 photos
I took of the Swim Suit Contest (camera was buzzing) I
picked out the best photos I liked without getting carried
away too much! Come on girls, it’s a guy thing, wRight?
Please excuse the color of some photos but the Reliant
Center doesn’t have best friendly lighting for photography
but that is my problem that I have to deal with.  Enjoy
the photos and mark your calendars for the Hooters Show
next weekend Sunday Feb. 23rd & the Space City Cruisers
Spring Car Show Sat. April 19th for more info. open links
below!   That’s all I’ve got folks, as always, I hope I didn’t
lose you with me rattling on.  Y’all be good and safe cruisin’
wherever your ride takes you, just keep her between the
lines and out of the ditches.

My good friend Sonny Poteet with the blown 55 Chevy
asked me to ride shot gun with him to the "Coffee & Cars"
at Vintage Park in North Houston.  Neither he or I had ever
been to "Coffee & Cars" since introduction to the Houston
area, so this was a new adventure for both of us.  With
the word on the streets, it was well known that you needed
to get their early to get a parking space in the North parking
area.  Our thinking was, if we got their around 6 AM we
would have our choice of parking places, "WRONG"!  As we
approached the entrance right at 6 AM Sonny and I looked
at each other and said "OMG", the North parking lot was
just about full with some 300+ cars already.  As we were
making our way through the parking lot and discussing how
late we were in getting that special parking spot, Jim
Valentine (64 Ford Galaxie) waved us down.  Jim already
knew Sonny (who doesn't know Sonny?) offered us a open
parking space alongside of him, "Made Our Morning", thank
you, Jim.  Now all I had to do was wait for the sun to come
up to take pictures, yeah right, "No Sun Today", heavy over
cast, but that is a blessing when taking pictures.  The sun
tends to play with the camera settings, but with NO sun, it's
a piece of cake, just click away one after another.  I usually
take pictures of every car, "NOT TODAY FOLKS", just
group shots unless I come across a special car and ALL
Classic Cars.  I've always told you folks, that if you have
never made a trip to see Randy & Molly Shannon's Niftee
50ees Saturday Evening Drive-In you are missing an
unbelievable site of hundreds of Classic Cars up to 1979.
Trust me on this one, it is the same way with this "Coffee
& Cars" at Vintage Park with the exception of hundred's
of cars, most are New Exotic, Muscle, Luxury cars but
there are a lot of Classic Original's, Muscle, Street Rods
and trucks scattered through out the Shopping Village.
The showing of these cars is suppose to be from 8 AM to
10 AM but as you have read above, it looks like folks are
getting there about 5 AM and start to leave at about 9 AM
with several Police Officers directing traffic so as to empty
the whole parking lot by 10 AM for regular customers
parking.  Enjoy the pictures in the link below but most
importantly, PLEASE read the "Information About" link also.
Okay folks that's all I've got, until I pop up someplace else
out there in our world of Classic Cars that I think you would
enjoy reading about.  Y'all be good and wherever your Ride
takes you, just keep it between the lines and out of the
ditches...

Camaro Kid News Letter
Tuesday Jan. 28th. 2014 at 1 PM

Good time to sit down and write a News Letter with
this rainy weather and temperature at 30 degrees.
That is one thing we didn't have to worry about with
the inside show of the Houston Auto Show (New
Cars) this past week at the Reliant Center in Houston.
Thanks to the invite by Charlie Van Natter to move
in and the Preview Night Party with some mouth
watering delicious food. On the Preview night I
usually take all my pictures of the cars because it
isn't all that crowded and I can zip right through
with one click after another.  But this time around
I didn't, WOW, what a mistake that was, thinking
I would take most of my pictures on Saturday.
Saturday I arrived at Reliant Center at about 11 AM,
OMG, couldn't find a parking place, and their was
wall to wall people inside the Center.  These folks
had been all cooped with bad weather for a week
and they were coming out of the wood work, they
were everywhere.  Needless to say it was almost
impossible to take any pictures with folks crowded
around each and every car.  Between using my wives
throw down camera, my Nikon at the move in and
Preview Night, I was able to put together an album.
Your not going to see very many new cars, but you
will see ALL the Classic Cars & Exotic Cars
coordinated by Charlie & Vicki Van Natter.  If you
want to see any of the new cars, go to my album of
last year, they all still look the same, it is getting
harder and harder to tell them apart, except for the
new Corvette.(LOL)  Always, my main concern is the
Classic Cars and this year for the first time the Exotic
Cars setting outside at the main entrance.  So, with
that out of the way, enjoy the pictures, and mark
your calendars for The Space City Cruisers Car,
Truck & Bike show (Always On Easter Week-end)
Saturday April 19th 2014.  Y'all be good, enjoy a fun
filled year of cruisin' to your favorite car shows.
Keep your ride between the lines and out of the
ditches!!!

Good morning all you gear heads, I just closed out my 2013
Car Show listings.  Below is the start of my
2014 Camaro Kid
Car Show Listings
which have already been posted.  This is
just a short reminder for y'all to contact your Club Presidents
and Web Site Managers to send me your official date for your
car show.  I don't need the flyer, or all the important info, but
a date that is etched into concrete so as to post it as soon as
possible so that we don't step on anyone's toes during the
2014 season approaching!  Most shows are for a very good
cause and with several shows posted on the same date
makes for less money generated to that cause.  After your
show is posted I can always come back and add your flyer
and short write up about your show within my
Camaro Kid
Car Show Listings
.  I hope this short letter catches everyone
well and ready for a
Very Merry Christmas and to ring in the
2014 New Year with a bang!!!

Y'all be good, see you somewhere someplace in 2014!!!!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Wednesday December 4th. 2013 at 9AM

Yeah I know, October was the last time I wrote up a News
Letter, but not much to bend your ear about folks until now.
As everyone knows the Houston Autorama has come and
gone again with great success with a pretty much packed
George R Brown building from one end to the other with a
lot of new cars I hadn’t seen before including the one that
beat my butt.  Still, when all the dust settles, second place
isn’t all that bad considering what I was up against.  Love
competition, by golly there was enough of that to go around
for everyone.  Steve Green and his crew not only put on a
exceptional show inside but Gary Jones did just as well
with a street full Classic Cars and Trucks that filled the
street outside in front of George R Brown both Friday and
Saturday.  As you all know by now I take a picture of every
entry within the building, I might miss a couple, but not very
many.  I volunteered all my time Friday in getting the majority
of the auction cars inside and staged for Saturday’s auction.
Sorry but I missed taking pictures of the Classic Cars outside
Friday, but did get pictures of those that showed up on
Saturday.  In all, I took over 800+ pictures, and was able to
weed some of them out, down to about 730 pictures.  I could
sit here and write page after page of the show and new people
that I met in my six days I was there, but I’ll let my pictures
take over from here.  It was good to see old friends and meet
some new ones and if the lord is willing, I’ll see y’all next year
same time, same place, y’all be good. “Merry Christmas and
a Happy 2014 New Year”!

Space City Cruisers Car Show & Hot Rod Picnic
Tuesday October 15th. 2013 at 3 PM.

Since I've already sent out a News Letter last week, I'm going
to try and keep this short and sweet on Space City Cruisers
show and the Hot Rod Picnic!
We all knew the rains were coming this weekend put we also
knew that we needed to make the best of it, for our kids. We
did pretty darn good with only one little rain in the morning
and then one about 2PM, with about 87 entries in the SCC
Fall Car Show.  Some really nice silent auction and door
prizes were given out to the low turn out, which was good for
them. We didn't make a killing but we did keep our heads
above water in raking in some monies for The Vicki Gibson
Scholarships and Texas Lions Camp.  Our Loyal Sponsors,
Club Members, and you, our die hard gear heads, keep this
show alive for other shows ahead.  I believe everyone was on
the road by 2:45 for hopefully a safe trip home. From all of
the Space City Cruisers officers, club members and Our
Loyal Sponsors "THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF
OUR HEARTS."
See y'all right here again at League Park
on April 19th. Saturday Easter Weekend....

10-12-13 Space City Cruisers Fall Car Show Album

I knew looking at the radar that all you folks north of I-10 in
Houston were covered by yellow and red images, were
never going to make the 6th Annual Hot Rod Picnic.  Y'all
won't believe this, but we didn't have one drop hit us at this
event.  At least this old bald head of mine didn't detect any
rain drops.  As you will see in the pictures only about a third
of the crowd showed up, even at that we still had a great time.
If you were here before, you know there was plenty of food
for all.  Thank you Pee Wee, Billy, the Girls and the Strom
family for making this one of the best laid back most enjoyable
Picnic's around every year....
That's all I've got folks, enjoy the pictures, and I'll see you
out there somewhere someplace.  "Y'all be good" !!

Camaro Kid News Letter
Friday October 4th. 2013 at 10:00 pm

I know, "I just put out a News Letter" but this is fresh from
last night's "The Yellow Party" at Reliant Center for the Official
Kickoff Event of the Shell & Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston.
Fred Arnold with the Houston Classic Chevy Club needed a few
extra Chevy's for this event, and asked if I would like to join them.
I couldn't wait to get an e-mail off to Fred, "Put Me On Your List".
I don't ever turn down an opportunity to show and display my
cars at an inside event anywhere especially when it is free.
This time was a little bit challengingly since just having back
surgery five days before show.  This is where it's nice to have
family standing by ready for poor old Dad. My son Darren didn't
blink an eye when I asked for his help especially when it involves
free food and drinks.  First time to sit shot gun in my Dually with
trailer in tow and Fred's pick of the litter, the old beat up Corvette
headed to the party.  The VIP folks had to pass right by all these
beautiful Tri-Five Chevy's on display which was a sight to behold.
I took several pictures of each car with different settings of the
camera.  I apologize for not taking more pictures of all the
Scrumptious Foods and deserts, I was to busy eating, but I did get
a few from my sons phone camera.  A good time was had by all
with hopefully a safe trip home..!   Fred, thank you for the invite,
HCC Club members thank you taking me under your wing, and
most of all thank you Darren for being there when I needed you.
Y'all enjoy the pictures, if you are a Ford man, there was a piece
of that there too with Hershel Cronin's 55 Chevy Gasser, powered
by a earth shacking ground thumping Ford engine.. I still think
that engine is in backwards!!!
Y'all be good!!!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Thursday October 3rd. 2013 at 1 PM

Yep, it's been awhile, since I wrote up a News Letter folks.
My last cruise to a show was at the Grace Community Church
back in June when even a road lizard couldn't stand the heat,
but I was inside with some cool AC.  I've made a couple of
Cruise-In nights but that's all, to darn hot for this old body of
mine.  hope you've noticed I haven't slowed down in keeping
y'all informed with any and all car shows going on in the
Houston area, but then again I'm in the AC.

Last weekend I did pull the old Camaro out of the trailer and
shoved the Corvette into its place for a trip down to Corpus
Christi for the 4th. Semiannual Vettes and Jets on the Lex
Friday Sept. 13th.  Wasn't going to miss this for all the tea
in china, or even with Mother Nature and her scorching heat.
If you have a Corvette (Any Year) think about just making
this once in two years from now (2015) for a trip you will
never forget.  All proceeds from the Vettes and Jets on the
Lex goes to "The Wounded Warrior Project" foundation!

Your car is loaded on board by using the aircraft elevator to the
main deck (14 cars at a time) from the docks Sat. at 5am and
come off Sun. at 5pm.  Two whole days to tour the ship and
participate in activities below decks with Ceremonies all day
Saturday and Sunday with Live & Silent Auctions all while
your car is on the flight deck getting its tires kicked. Trust me
you won't get bored in your two days aboard the ship, but the
Ceremonies will make it very hard to hold back some Patriotic
tears, I couldn't!  The Auction alone for Sunday brought in over
$8,000 for the WWP, what a good cause!  I could talk for ever
about this event but I will let my pictures follow up to a good
ending.  It is time to thank Stephen "Maverick" McCravy, Mike
Ross, their volunteers and the newly founded "The South Texas
Corvette Club" for making all this possible.  The loading and
unloading of all the Corvettes is "Pure Poetry in Motion" with
safety as TOP Priority!!!!!!!  From all us folks here in and around
the Houston area, we thank you Maverick, for a job well done for
all of our Veterans on this big Planet.  Yeah I know, I can hear you
now, BUT you are the Hub to this big wheel with the spokes being
your supporters that made all this happen.....THANK YOU

Camaro Kid News Letter

Sunday June 16th. 2013 at 10PM

Well it's been a full month since I've raddled y'all's cage with
a News Letter from the old Camaro Kid...."yep, older than dirt"
but still a kid at heart.  I always like to do something different
when showing my car and I found a fantastic place to do that
this weekend.  The Grace Community Church At I-45 and belt-
way 8 held their 2nd Annual Fathers Day Car Show.  A few
things that caught my eye were the FREE FOOD, NO ENTRY
FEE, AND A CHANCE TO PARK INSIDE out of the HOT
Steamy weather that we are experiencing right now.  They had
room for 35 cars inside, but only 19 showed up including
yours truly for that nice cool parking space inside. To get a
premier space inside you needed to show up on Saturday for
set up which is a piece of cake for someone that is RETIRED.
LOL, keep the Social Security money coming in folks, I paid
my fair share over past fifty years.  They also had parking
outside on Sunday (day of show) to hang out until about one
o'clock.  Ironic as it may seems, they had 19 cars show up
for outside parking, which after taking pictures of them, a lot
of folks cars would have met the criteria to have been inside
sucking up some A/C.  Bottom line, this was a good show with
the folks bending over backwards in understanding the time and
money you have tied up in your pride and joy to offer incentives
to have you proudly show your ride.  I've always wondered
what this church looked like inside when traveling north on I-45,
with the pictures I took you will observe SOME of the fantastic
inside design for yourself too.  I took over 250 pictures but only
used about 112 of them for your viewing pleasure. Keep this
show in the back of you mind for next year!  Y'all be good,
enjoy the pictures, and until we meet again keep your ride
between the lines and out of the ditches.....

"WELL go figure"!!!
Who would have thought that the weather
would made a 360 turn come 9 AM Saturday after looking at the
forecast the night before for the 5th. Annual Aeros & Autos Show
"WOW".  Besides putting on two car shows a year the Space City
Cruisers members still saved up enough energy to unleash it for this
fantastic show every year in helping generate money for the Texas
Lions Camp in Kerrville & the USO foundation. Even with the
inclement weather keeping some of y'all at home, you missed a one
of a kind show, anywhere.  The biggest a attraction of the day was
the "Houston Half Mile Shoot Out" promoted by Hennessey
Performance.  Everyone was asking each other what is the fastest
Car or fastest Bike!  Military Organizations, Houston Police
Department, U.S. Coast Guard, NASA, Commemorative Air Force,
Lone Star Flight Museum, Texas Flying Legends Museum just to
name a few who contributed their time and effort in bringing this all
together.  Speaking of bringing it all together, this one man, Shawn
Chittum (Events Coordinator, Operations Manger) who is probably
already planning next years 2014 show, deserves a good old
Texas hug for his devoted time. As with most shows you really
don't see what goes on behind the scene, you just consume and
take in the finished product.  With people like Shawn, Car Club
Presidents, and all leaders of any organization, you don't mind
giving your all in helping them make things come together. This
Aero & Autos show had a lot of that going on wherever you walked
Saturday..."JOB WELL DONE BY ALL FOLKS INVOLVED"
I took over 600 pictures but weeded them down to about 303 for
your viewing pleasure.  The link below can be copied and pasted
to anyone whom you think would like to see them..  I have NO
COPY
rights, so do whatever you want with them.  Also play
around in Photobucket all you want, they finally got their act
together after six months of tormenting me with their NEW LOOK.
Y'all be good, keep your ride between the lines and out of the
ditches wherever you decide to go.

Sunday April 28th. at 11AM

On Saturday April 20th. the Beacon Federal Credit Union in
La Porte Tx. had a Show & Shine Car Show to help introduce
their offering of Classic Car Loans.  I was really surprised
when I turned the corner that they had some 40+ cars, trucks
already in the parking lot and here I left my camera at home.
Thanks to my buddy Frank Fidelibus who didn't forget his
camera took all the pictures that you will see in the link
below.  This was their first Annual Show with no entry fee
along with Prizes and I heard through the grape vine that this
will return again possibly with some free food...I'll let y'all
know when that takes place in the future.
04-20-13 Beacon FCU Show & Shine In La Porte, Tx.

Yesterday, Saturday April 27th. I made my way up to Alvin
for their Frontier Day Car & Bike Show at the National Oak
Park downtown.  I was very reluctant to leave the house with
such a heavy overcast but this is one fantastic car show put on
by the Alvin Rotary Club and coordinated by my good friend
Jerry Barrnet. This park is just an awesome setting for car
shows with all the trees and now with the added landscape
of sidewalks and covered picnic tables just doesn't get much
better then this.  Along with 140+ cars and trucks at the show
any empty space was taken up by Vendors, Arts & Crafts
which were everywhere, "WOW".  Hopefully I got a picture
of every car, truck, motorcycle AND TRACTORS, (almost
forgot) that was in the show, plus a few folks walking around
kicking tires!  The day really turned out pretty darn good,
considering the heavy stuff went north of us, even if you had
to wipe you vehicle occasionally.  Job well done by the
Alvin Rotary Club, Jerry Barnett family and supporters!!!
I think Photobucket finally has it's act together so far as
viewing the pictures that I took at this show.  Y'all be good,
see you on the flip flop, and remember to keep your ride
between the lines and out of the ditches until we meet again.

Just finished the pictures of the 3rd. EVER!! "MEET THE LEGENDS!"
The weather was picture perfect for any outside event including this
one here at Lone Star Motorsports Park in Sealy, Texas.  Chet Beaty,
his entire staff, and volunteers orchestrated a fantastic job of putting
this Nostalgic Drags, Rod Run and a field of Classic Cars on the map!
If you will read the introduction of Flyers at the beginning of the Photo
Album it will give a pretty good picture of what took place all day.
To everyone's surprise, (kept it to myself) Chet made arrangements to
have a fly over which took place at the opening ceremonies with the
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and singing of the National Anthem.
Look especially for those pictures of the fly over and also the of the
Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall presented by the S.W. Texas
Patriot Guard Riders.  "WOW" this wall Honors American's Heroes
From the State of Texas who made the ultimate sacrifice defending
our freedom and serving out country so that we can walk about today
with a secure peace of mind.  The pictures of the wall is at the very
end of the Photo Album.  Chet made sure that all our Military Veterans
were honored on this whole day of racing.  I could go on and on of all
the events that took place all day, but it's time to let all my pictures do
their talking for me.  As y'all know I use photobucket for your viewing
pleasure and I have found out that photobucket is a very sensitive
operating system.  If you have a problem with your server, I suggest
using Google Chrome search engine.  I use it all the time now, found
out it to be lot faster then going through AOL with less hiccup's.
Y'all be good, see you somewhere someplace this summer, keep your
ride between the lines and out of the ditches wherever you go.....

Darn, the threat of rain and some sprinkles in the morning kept
a few Cruisers from joining us for our Space City Cruisers
Spring Car Show this Easter Week-end. If you lived in the
northern part of Houston, I don't blame you for not venturing
out to the south to visit us. It really turned out to be a nice day
after the sprinkles of rain stopped. A total of 208 fantastic cars

and trucks with some 11 Motorcycles covering the parking lot.
Special thanks to y'all for coming and spending Easter week-
end with us. Your participation will help some deserving High
School Seniors in our area to enjoy the benefit of receiving a
Vicki Harvey Gibson Scholarships this spring. Also a portion
of these proceeds go to some special children at the Lions Camp
in Kerrville, Texas. Of course, without all our loyal Sponsors,
the hub of our big wheel, and dedicated SCC Club Members,
we wouldn't be able to put on the best show possible in
generating money for our kids. "THANK YOU" everyone who
passed under the entry arch to the park, y'all made this happen
and for that we are deeply grateful for your participation!!!
I took some 700+ photos but could only weed them out down
to about 600 pictures... I have mentioned in my previous
News Letters that I'm having trouble with Photobucket with
them trying to fix something that wasn't broke. They have
just about forced me to go to another photo server "Flickr".
I hate change just as much as anyone else, but push comes
shove, have to move on with something that works best for
our club. I have links below from Flickr and Photobucket so

you can see what I've been putting up with for the last few
months. Both servers received the same files in their upload,
now you tell me which one looks the best...don't spend to
much time with photobucket it's not worth your time. Okay,
enough of that, (got it off my chest) time to bring this to a
close. Hope everyone made it home safely and when you
get time MARK your calendars for Space City Cruisers
Fall Car Show Saturday October 19th. 2013. Y'all be good
and I'll see you somewhere, someplace, just keep your ride
between the lines and out of the ditches...

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER
Tuesday March 12th 2013 at 10:30 AM

March always seems to be the bench mark for kicking off Summer Car
Shows or the Corvette/Chevy Expo at George R. Brown Convention
Center. This year's show seemed to come and go without any hitches or
glitches to speak of. It always brings an array of who can out do each
other no matter if it is a new Corvette, Mustang or Camaro with newest
added technology or paint screams depending how deep your pockets

were. After taking pictures of almost all the cars at the show, I believe
that their was possibly less cars this year then last but not by much.
I did notice that their was more 50's 60's Classic Chevy's and Corvettes
than in past years to help over shadow the Newer Corvettes which help
make it more pleasing to the eye in taking you back in time!!!! The show
organizers deserve a pat on the old back for their time spent in making
this year's show a pleasant experience with very few complaints. The
pictures I took of the Expo Show were all taken early Sunday morning.
After looking over my beat up Camaro Saturday morning I made my way
to the Oilfield Helping Hands Auto Show going on at Parking lot B & C
at Minute Maid Park just next door with camera in hand. My time was
really limited in taking pictures at this show because of another
commitment that I had in Dickinson with taking pictures of the Annual
Union Carbide Retiree's Party
. With my time limited I took pictures of
this show as fast as I could until I had to leave at 9:45AM. Even at that
I was able to click off some 150 pictures of the Classic Cars that were
already there. With the weather improving by each minute I could see
a possibility of these two large parking lots being full before days end.
Damn, just not enough time in a day sometimes, but I was still able to
give you folks an update on these two shows if you weren't able to make
it to either one. Enjoy the pictures of both events, and keep in mind that
Photobucket, where all my pictures are at, is making big changes to
their Web Site! With that in mind some of the pictures in my albums
will not be in categorical order that they were in my computer, "HATE
CHANGE", should get better with time....!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Tuesday February 19th. at 10:00AM

Wow, pretty day in the neighborhood with spring just around
the corner. I had the great pleasure of Joining Charlie Van
Natter & John Wayne Robinson for a tour of Gullo's Classic
Car Museum along with Rolls Royce Club of Texas. Mr.Tony
Gullo met us at the front door, with a greeting that goes back
some thirty plus years between Charlie and Mr. Gullo. After
meeting Tony, I left them talking about old times, and made my
way through all the cars with camera in hand. Tony's home sits
out front with his Museum of "Tony's Toys" in back within five
buildings, each one added as his collection over took each
building. This is one of those times that my pictures just don't
even come close to capturing the elegance of each car. It was
a real challenge trying to get the best pictures possible with the
cars park so close together, looks like to me another building
is needed. As I made my way through each building and rooms
within a building, I would run across Charlie & Tony
reminiscing over a particular car or coach. Even when Mr.
Gullo wasn't with Charlie I would run across him in one room
or another explaining all the particulars of a Classic Car to a
group of folks. What a great host with an unbelievable
personal collection of 250 plus Classic Cars and warm
personality to boot. Enjoy the pictures, but I have to warn
you that Photobucket is going through a big change with their
NEW PHOTOBUCKET!! Some of the tools I use to keep
pictures in order DOESN'T work. You will see that my
pictures are everywhere within the album, but this is
completely out of my control until these Coconuts bring back
all the tools I need to make a good presentation to y'all,
SORRY!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Tuesday January 23rd. 2013 at 2:30PM

Well it's been awhile folks since I made contact with y'all on any
activities in our area. My last one was the coverage of the Houston
AutoRama at Thanksgiving time... The Houston Auto Show (New
Cars) is opening today (see link below) in which I was invited to
the Houston Chronicle Press Preview Party for all exhibitors. I
took advantage of the great food, then made my way down to the
ribbon cutting ceremony for the entry into the world of new cars on

display within the Reliant Center. As always, for thirty years
Charlie Van Natter picked a good variety of Classic Cars for the
corral display. These Classic Cars bring back a lot good memories
of the way it used to be and for the young folks, to compare the Old
with the New. When I was a kid (still act like one) in my day, you
could look at ANY car going down the road and tell who the
manufacture was right away, but NOT anymore. When you walk
through Reliant, you will see a lot of similarities in all the new
cars. In clicking off some 440 pictures I couldn't help notice a new
attraction to the Houston Auto Show. The "Camp Jeep" in the far
Northeast corner has a 35 degree hill climb that goes all the way
up to the ceiling of the Reliant Center. Visitors ride with a
experienced driver through a course of obstacles then on to the HILL
CLIMB. I encourage everyone, if not for a ride along, but to observe
the capabilities of the JEEP.. I'm not going to drag this out anymore
folks, as always, let my pictures do the talking for me.... The links
below are of my pictures in an album and slide show for you to sit
back and enjoy. Y'all take care, I'll be back again when I have
something worth talking about that I think you would be interested
in. Drive safely, keep your ride between the lines and out of the
ditches!!!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Monday November 26th. 2012 at 7 PM

The 53rd Annual Houston AutoRama came and went with a lot of
pounding of the concrete for four days in taking pictures of some
magnificent cars I've never seen before. Move in was on Tuesday and
Wednesday. For the first time ever, ON activities on Thanksgiving
Day. Doors opened to the public on Friday morning through Sunday
evening. I estimated the crowd was average but the amount of cars,
trucks, and bikes packed the building from the Swap Meet at one
end and the Car Auction at the other which covers a quarter of a mile
in all. The Swap Meet was the largest I have ever seen it in ten years.
For the first time EVER a Out Door Cruise-In to AutoRama was out
in front of the building with the street blocked off for their parking
area. The rain that came Friday afternoon put a damper on kicking
tires for the day but Saturday brought them all back out with close
to over sixty cars and trucks on display. With Gary Jones as the ring
leader in putting this outside show together for the first time, it
came to be a great success, which may just turn into an Annual
activity. A job well done Gray, hope to see this back next year. While
walking around the AutoRama, did the voice you kept hearing over
the PA system sound familiar, well it should have!! It was our very
own Randy Shannon with Niftee 50ees Classic Drive-In at Krogers
in Spring, Tx. This silver tongue devil with the help of his side kick
Molly Shannon was keeping all you folks abreast of activities coming
up during the whole day from start to finish of the AutoRama. I spent

two days devoted to taking pictures of EVERY car and truck. I might
have missed a few motorcycles but that surely wasn't my intentions!!!
Steve Green and his crew deserve a pat on the back, "Job Well Done"
There are over seven hundred pictures of the 2012 AutoRama in a
Link below to the photo album. For those of you that couldn't
visit this year's AutoRama, the pictures will hopefully kinda give
you a sense of being there. For those that did go, maybe there is one
particular car you might want to show a friend or family member,
if so, it's there!!! In any case, I hope y'all enjoy the pictures as much
as I did taking them.

CAMARO KIDS NEWS LETTER

Sunday November 11th. 2012 at Noon

Friday Nov. 9th.
It has been awhile since I've made an evening cruise to Lowes in
Pearland, but the evening was so inviting to get out and about with
the top down on my old beat up Corvette. If y'all haven't made this
one on Friday evening and live in the area, I suggest that you crank
up your favorite ride for a cruise to well lighted parking lot. On this
night I estimate that their had to be close to 100+ cars strutting their
stuff. Ran into a lot of folks I hadn't seen in awhile including a lot of
Carbiders that I used to work with. This Friday evening cruise at
Lowes in Pearland and the Saturday evening cruise at Chick-Fil-a in
Kemah will continue through the winter months, as weather permits.

Saturday Nov. 10th.
Yep, two days in a row, just couldn't pass this one up which is
always a great Car Show in Alvin put on by the Alvin Rotary
Foundation. Absolutely perfect weather for a Car Show with back
drop setting of on grass and under the trees at the National Oak Park
in Alvin, Tx. Plenty of Food, Arts and Crafts with lots of blow ups
for the kiddies in keeping them entertained while the adults are out
meeting new folks, their rides and kicking tires. My buddy Jerry
Barnett has come a long ways in the past few years along with all of
his volunteers in making this Show one you don't want to pass up!!!
Even with Jerry's valuable time and dedication into making this a
GREAT show, you just can't please everyone! But at the end of the
day most folks cruise away from the show with the satisfaction of
having a good time and meeting new folks, a "BIG THANK YOU" to
Jerry and his wife. Unlike the cruise to Pearland, I did have my
camera in hand for some beautiful cars and trucks along with
shots of some exceptional and beautiful people in a fantastic setting.
As always, now is the time for my pictures to do all the talking. The
LINKS below are both in a Album and a lay back enjoy Slide Show.
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and I'll see most of you
folks at AutoRama! Safe cruisin' wherever you decide to go, just

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER
Monday Oct. 29th. 2012 at 10 AM

What a beautiful weekend for any type of activities especially a
Car Show. The weather men really blew this one, they forecasted
rain for Fri. & Sat. I'm sitting her nursing wind burn after
spending the weekend at the Wings Over Houston. If they didn't
have a record breaking crowd, they sure came close to it for both
days. "WOW" My good friend Brad Senter made the Cruise-In
for Texas City, Saturday and took some really good pictures. I've
included them in a
link below and Thank You Brad for sharing!
This News Letter is going to be short an sweet this morning folks.
The car shows are winding down down now after this last
weekend with only a hand full of shows until AutoRama at the
George R Brown Center in Houston. I already have a list going
for 2013 Car Shows in my "CAMARO KID CAR SHOW LISTINGS"
Click here: Camaro Kid Car Show Listings For 2012
Which can be found at Click here: spacecitycruisers.comWeb
Site. Please, if you just have the date for your 2013 car show
etched in concrete "SEND THAT TOO ME", I can always add
your other information later with a write up and a link to your
Flyer. The quicker I get your car show posted the less chance
of stepping on each others toes competing for the same week-
end.
"When Sending Flyers, Send Them In JPEG Format"
Most likely, my next News Letter will be after AutoRama with
a "picture of each car" in photobucket for you to view. Keep
in mind that Niftee 50ees last showing is Sat. November 10th.
Our Cruise-In's for Friday evenings to Lowes in Pearland and
Saturday evening at Chick-Fil-a will continue as weather permits!
Y'all be good, and keep your ride between the lines and out of
the ditches.

Camaro Kid News Letter
Monday Oct. 15th. 2012 at 1:30 PM

First time to have the old 60 Vette out on the road after having
her in the hospital headed to the 5th. Annual Hot Rod Picnic at
Carbide Park. It really felt good to feel the air blowing through
my hair as she and I made our way down the highway. LOL!
As usual, when I pulled up, Mike and David Strom Sr. already
had the pit smoking and cooking Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and
Sausage. As the day worn on it was pretty obvious that the
attendance would be down, knowing that bad weather was in
Houston and surrounding areas. As you will see in the
pictures, the weather Gods spared us that wet stuff from
dropping on our cars. Even though it was a light crowd,
a good time was had by all, with the music by Pee Wee
Bowen and his band stirring up folks to dance to his OLD
TIME GOODIE songs, talk about someone getting better with
age!! As always, the food covered six picnic tables, and if
you walked away hungry, it was because you picked the
wrong time to be on a diet!!! After all the dust settled it
turned out to be a fantastic day for all, with probably only
one third of the crowd showing up. For those of you that
couldn't make it because of the bad weather or other events
in your area, I took enough pictures so you could see what
you missed. I could mention a lot of folks that make this
possible but I would leave someone out, and that wouldn't
be wRight!! But you can look at the Flyer at the beginning of
my pictures and see all those that were involved to make all
of this a reality for everyone's enjoyment. A pat on the back
or a good old Texas hug goes a long ways in thanking these
folks the next time you see them. Enjoy the pictures folks,
and will see y'all at the Space City Cruisers Fall Car Show
at Walter Hall Park in League City, Tx. next Saturday Oct.
20th. Drive safely, and keep your ride between the lines and

Camaro Kid News Letter
Sunday October 7th. 2012 at 9 PM

It only happens once a year, but being able to leave the house
and make it to a car show in five minutes sure makes life simple.
The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Car & Truck Show on Sat.
could not have asked for better weather for all the car and truck
participants, Art's & Craft booths and food vendors. Fay Picard
(President/CEO) of the Chamber of Commerce and Anthony
Macaluso (Car Show Chairman) were overwhelmed to say the
least, with the great turn out of some 107 entries considering
there were seven other car shows in and around the Houston
area. The Camaro Kid was presented a nice Certificate of
Appreciation for working with Fay over the last few years in
getting the word out and taking pictures for this show right here
in my home town. Those of you that know me, know that I like
being behind the camera taking pictures, not having my picture
taken, but I made an exception this time for this special
certificate. With the weather always playing a major role in
putting on a car show, you, also, have volunteers behind the
scene helping Fay & Anthony in bringing this show to an
exceptional conclusion at the end of the day! All involved
deserve a good hug and pat on the back for a job well done! I've
been told through the grape vine that the Car Show is moving to
the Junior High School on Warpath next year, with a lot more
room and parking area to accommodate everyone. I took about
255 pictures of which will include friends, neighbors, car clubs,
and a lot of Retired Carbider's (co-workers) that live in and
around the Santa Fe. area. "What a GREAT Day"!!!!!!!!
Y'all enjoy the pictures, and until I see you again, keep your ride
between the lines and out of the ditches. "Y'all Be Good"!

Camaro Kid News Letter

Monday, October 1st. 2012 at 8 PM

Hello strangers, haven't put out a News Letter in quite some time, and

I said I wouldn't unless I had some info that I thought you might be
interested in. I just returned from the Super Chevy at Royal Purple

Raceway in Baytown Texas. Bad, Bad weekend for any car show in

our area, with the terrible weather that loomed over us both days. Seth

Angle, Raceway’s General Manager tried to salvage some of the

weekend by moving everything to Sunday. By watching the radar on

Sunday morning it looked like it was an excellent idea with clouds

moving out of our area. I was with Seth on this one, because I missed

last year with it being on the same day as of a lot of other activities

and Space City Cruisers show being that weekend also. The old

Camaro and I made our way to the track bright and early knowing that

a lot of folks wouldn't make the show because for one the show was

canceled the day before and the Outlaw Fuel Altereds wouldn't be

there. Mother Nature sure showed how wrong I was, my thinking was

that the low clouds would burn off and we would have a beautiful day,

“WRONG”. After putting the top up and wiping down water for the

third time, “I Gave Up” she won this round!!! I just can't say enough

about the General Manager Seth Angle in his fruitless effort to at least

salvage one day. For most of us folks there, this wasn't our first

Rodeo and have learned over the years to make something good of

something terribly bad!!! It sure brightens the day with a trophy and

jacket, to help make the trip home a decent one. My hopes are that Seth

Angle is not discouraged by this weekend’s bad weather and strives with

his endless determination to bring Super Chevy back again next year!!!

Between the rains I was able to click off a few pictures, so it won't take

you long to go threw them this time. With that I'm closing with asking

for y’alls support in voting for my 67 Camaro on line! Might just

win some free products with your vote by clicking on the LINK

below. Y’all be good, keep your ride between the lines and out of the

ditches!!!

05-26-12 Celebration Of Steve Sohrenssen's Life
At The Oaks of Clear Creek Park

Sorry for taking so long in publishing this Celebration of Steve
Sohrenssen's life at The Oaks of Clear Creek Park in League
City, Tx. I have been pondering this for almost three weeks if
I should send this out, but was convinced by a close friend
that everyone would appreciate seeing photos of the love for
this man. If you didn't know this man,
"YOU SHOULD HAVE"!
This park was absolutely a perfect setting that Steve would
have felt right at home with.  Family, Car Folks, Friends, &
Co-Workers, all shared a story or two of their encounters
with this great man. The pictures you are about to view are
either in a link to a album or slide show, you have your choice.
I didn't delete ANY pictures, so some will be a little fuzzy and
some might not be to your liking, but what you see is what
you get!  If you missed this Celebration of Steve, hopefully
these pictures will bring back some good times that will make
a lasting impression on you of this beautiful man.
I don't have everyone's e-mail address that was there, but
hope that some of you do!  Please pass this letter and copy
and paste the Links below to all those who knew Steve.

Camaro Kid News Letter
Monday June 11th. 2012 at 1:00pm

It's been almost a month since my last news letter, but a busy
week-end made up for that.  I volunteered my services to the
9th. Annual Classy Chassis at Reliant Stadium this last week-
end shuttling folks from point A to point B. It sure gave me a
great opportunity to meet and talk with folks I hadn't seen in
a long time, got to love it.  This year the Classy Chassis held
a two day event because of it popularity in the last nine years!
I've been involved with this show since day one when I was
asked to enter my car in their First Every car show by Clay
Becker & Joe Linbeck while at Keels & Wheels show.  The
Classy Chassis started out with a few bumps in the road with
their first show, but it has evolved into one of the BEST
CONCOUSE d'ELLEGANCE in the country. This didn't happen
over night, it was the long nights and hard work by these two
gentlemen Clay & Joe and all of their fine folks behind the
scenes that made it possible. If you missed it this year, you
missed seeing the Best of The Best cars and trucks under
one roof, but hopefully you will mark your calendars for next
year in June.  I put one of our own long time member of the
Space City Cruisers Car Club Tim & Ann Paulissen's beautiful
1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 to start out with my show album.
This show makes a  great contribution to benefiting the
Shriners Hospital for Children in Houston/Galveston, WOW
what a boast to this wonderful meaningful organization!!!!
I could flap my jaws all day long about this show, but as always
I will let me pictures do the rest of my talking for me.
We are into the heat of the summer and the car shows have
slowed down tremendously in the last couple of weeks. To
stay up to date with any car shows please go Space City
Cruisers web site Click here: spacecitycruisers.com and click
on "Camaro Kid Car Show Listings For 2012".  I'm out of here
folks, enjoy the pictures, and keep your ride between the lines
and out of the ditches until we meet again.  "Y'all be good"

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER
Monday May 14th. 2012 at 10am.

Thanks to the weather God's and a few ladies doing a go away
rain dance Saturday morning brought about a good out come to a
very bad situation for the 4th. Annual Aeros & Autos Show at
Ellington Airport. It was raining cats and dogs when I left the house
Saturday morning at about 6am. without my ride to display at the
show.  I received a lot of calls Saturday morning wanting to know if
the show was going to take place, and all I could tell them was it
looked like to me (by keeping an eye on the radar) it would clear
up at about 8:00. That did hold true and folks starting coming in
from that point on as the streets were beginning to dry up. That's
where you folks had an advantage over us, you could wait until the
roads cleared up before you left the house.  With the Space City
Cruisers Car Club being one of the major volunteers for the show
we had to leave our classic rides at home. As the day wore on
everything started to fall into place as in past Aeros & Auto shows.
When all the rain had settled (usually dust) it turned out to be a
GREAT day with 119 cars and trucks, it could have started out
better but it was a far cry from being canceled altogether!!! Just
can't say enough about Shawn Chittum (Airport Operations
Supervisor) his dedication and hard work in putting this together
all year long. Big Thank You to John Hennessy with Hennessy
Performance in bringing together 100 high performance cars for
the "Half Mile Shoot Out" including his revamped creation of the
Ford GT with Record Top Speed of the day at  212.9 mph owned
by Mark Heidaker and driven by Sean Kennedy.  I have pictures
of this fantastic car in my album and of these folks also.

Sean Kennedy breaks world record for the standing mile

The day ended with a great relief that this show went on with all
the support of the Space City Cruisers Car Club, Lions Club and
all the volunteers for their exceptional devotion of energy in helping
make this a profitable day for the charities of The USO and The
Texas Lions Camp. To complete this News Letter, go to the links
below for all the pictures I took at this event. I wish I would have
had a better lens on my camera to take pictures of the half mile
shoot out, but they were to far away to get a decent photo. I
do wish that everyone could have been closer to the shoot out run
way, to really get the feel of the 1000, and 2000 Horse Power
cars when they were unleashed from a dead stop!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER
Tuesday April 10th. 2012 at 8PM

If you ever wanted to spend a fun day with beautiful weather, mouth
watering good food, Arts & Crafts, Swap Meet, and a park full of Classic
Cars as far as you could see. Well, that's what you missed if you were
unable to make it to the Space City Cruisers 2012 Spring Car Show in
League City, Tx. Thank you to all you fine folks that did show up, to help
increase our revenue in helping provide The Vicki Harvey Gibson
Scholarships this summer to some deserving High School Seniors!
Also, a portion of these proceeds go to our kids at the Lions Camp in
Kerrville Texas. I sure was expecting a bigger turn out than what we
had, but I really do believe that this explosion of gas prices has really
put a damper on some folks that are really trying to keep their head
above water.  I took some 700 pictures and narrowed them down to
something like 570. I thought I had gotten a picture of every car there,
which is always my intention, but I did miss a few, and I apologize to
you fine folks.  One thing I did make sure of, was that our sponsors
are well advertised, as you will see when viewing my pictures. Those
folks that do put on car shows all over our Houston area, know very
well that our sponsors are the hub to the wheel in putting on best
show possible to keep you coming back to help us help our kids!!!!!
Of course, without you, the participants with your beautiful rides, which
makes up most of the spokes in that wheel, helps bring us altogether as
one big family with the same goals in mind, "OUR KIDS"!  I just can't say
enough about all our Space City Cruiser Club members for coming out
of the wood work for each of our two shows a year.  Where will you find
a better well oiled machine working at full capacity all day long in making
sure that your experience at our show is one you will tell all your friends
about, that folks Is, "Our Club Members & Volunteers"!!!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday October 20th. 2012 for the
Space City Cruisers Fall Car Show at this very same place.  I hope and
pray that everyone made it home safely, and will join us again in the Fall.
Enjoy the pictures that I've included in a album & slide show link.

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER

Sunday March 25th. 2012 at Noon

Well it was a mad dash coming down the Gulf Freeway Saturday morning
with all the caravans of different Car Clubs headed to the APA Car Show in
Galveston knowing that first in line would get a good parking space.
The fog slowed a few of us down, but it wasn’t as bad as it had been the
last few mornings.  Everyone knew that it was going to be a beautiful day
once all the fog burnt off, which was the case at about 10AM when the
sun broke out for unbelievable day to show your ride.  We had one club
member, Vince Morreale, who lost a front wheel on his pristine 1957 Pontiac
just past the Pelican Bridge.  Talked with Vince this morning he has
realized that it could have been worse then what it was.  Front fender is
bent up somewhat, it’s just metal that can be fixed, but Vince thank God,
is still here to make more car shows in the future!  Vince wanted me to
pass on to all those folks that stopped to help, his profound gratitude in
helping get his precious ride back home, especially David Batte (Space City
Cruiser Cub President) who stayed with him the whole time. Yes, they did
finally find the front wheel hidden in the tall weeds before heading back home!
The rest of the day was “Picture Perfect” with cars parked in every crack and
crevice available on Pier 21.  The Pontiac folks deserve a big hand of applause
for their unselfish commitment of their time and effort in presenting a fantastic
Car Show for the start of the 2012 new year.  Of course, I took close to 200
pictures of this event and I don’t think I left out any car to my knowledge.
“PLEASE NOTE” that the Elisa did not sail on this day, I just added three
good pictures of her under sail from a previous APA car show, which
I thought y’all would enjoy!!  Y’all be good, see you out there somewhere
someplace with all the car show now in full swing.

Camaro Kid News Letter

WOW, what a day of the best of two worlds, Drag Racing and Pre 1973
Classic Car Show & Shine. The Second ever “MEET THE LEGENDS”
Nostalgic Drags and Rod Run was definitely “A Blast From The Past” on
Saturday, March 3rd at LoneStar Motorsports Park in Sealy, Texas.  I
would make a guess of about 600+ Cars, Trucks, Gassers, Hot Rods,
Dragsters, Rat Rods, and Specialty vehicles came out to join the fun.
If any of you folks were unfortunate that you missed this AWESOME
event, keep in mind that it will be coming back next year. The weather
was real iffy that morning but by 10AM it made a drastic change for the
better with the sun coming out for the rest of the day.  This is going to
be one of those times that I will let my pictures do most of the taking for
me, but even with these pictures it doesn’t put the whole day into
perspective, “YOU HAD TO BE THERE”!   I covered a lot of ground
the whole day but still missed a lot of cars, sorry but there is just so
much you can do in one day. I will ask y’all to pay close attention to the
pictures involving my friends, Sonny Poteet, David Strom Sr & Strom
Family., Pee Wee Bowen and Hershel Cronin with his 55 Chevy/Ford,
who won “Best In His Class” of the 10 second run or faster class!  His
pictures will be at the tail end of the photo album. A special “THANK
YOU”
too Randy & Molly Shannon who were instrumental in putting this
great event altogether in the last eight months for everyone to have a
great time and enjoy the fellowship of friends past and present. As
Randy has said in the past, he couldn’t have done all of this without
y’all’s support, “You The Fans” and all of his volunteers.  Randy made
many announcements over the loud speakers   in reference to his right
hand man Chet Beaty for his tremendous support and hard work for
even making this all possible. The next time you see Rand, Molly, Chet
or his volunteers; give them a big “Texas Hug & Pat On The Back” for a
job well done!!!!!  I took over 900 pictures, and was able weed them
down to 400, y’all enjoy!!!

CAMARO KID NEWS LETTER
Monday February 27th. 2012 at 3PM

After a short winters nap, and a break in the weather pattern for the
Gulf Coast area the cars came out of the wood work for a jam packed
parking lot of Classic Cars at Hooters in Seabrook. Who would have
believed the weather could change so fast from one day to the next
unless you are a long time resident of the Gulf Coast of Texas.  The
management of Hooters and the Space City Cruisers Car Club of
League City put together this car show to help benefit just one of many
of their charities.  All the proceeds that were generated by this car show
at Hooters went to the Texas Lions Camp of Kerrville Texas.

I would like to personally send out a big thank you to the Hooters
management, Space City Cruisers members, and of course y’all, for
making this a great success!  I arrived a little late myself, but was able
squeeze into a parking spot.  For those of you that showed up after
I did were most likely turned away because you couldn’t get another
car into the parking lot. If was pretty obvious that folks were chomping
at the bit to take advantage of the beautiful Sunday afternoon. My
pictures in the link below will give you general idea of how crowded it
really was, especially with an aerial view from the roof top of Hooters.
Enjoy the photos and I will send out my next news letter when I have
something that I think will spark your interest for some good photos
and reading!
